There will be no garbage pick up on (Continued On Back Page) TRYON, N.C. 28782 Hospital Trustees Vote Saturday Ruled Invalid A secret ballot vote taken Saturday by St. Luke's Hospital Board of Trustees on seven recommendations from a spe cial committee is not legal under state law. Saturday's special meeting was called to vote on the recommendations of a special Oversight Committee created to look into complaints and recommendations made by the St. Luke's Medical Staff two months ago. Jeanne Martin, Dr. S.L. McCormack, Donna Janes, John Elliott and Robert Bielaski were appointed to the Oversight Committee which was ''charged with dealing with the issue of administration and how to structure and improve com munication between the board of trustees and the medical staff, said Trustee Chairman Joe Claud. First recommended by the Oversight Committee was that the President of St. Luke's Hos pital, Thomas Bradshaw, remain in his present position, and "we further recommend that future relationship with the medical staff be objective, free from any personal differences, and forthright." House Seat 38 Robert E. "Bob" Walker of Landrum has filed as a Repub lican for S.C. House Seat 38 now held by Danny Bruce of Campobello. "I feel like I have the knowl edge, leadership and experience to represent the constituents of District 38," Walker said. "My basic concerns are the improvement of education, insurance reform, and using a more business like approach in the operation of govern ment." Walker brings to his candi dacy much experience in community service.
